Step 4 – When offending oak trees shade out your cherry tree, cut them down.
Step 5 – Wait
After going through these steps I had enough cherries this year for us and the birds, and that’s saying something. If it’s at all possible, try it. Pie cherries are sour, and unlike many fruit trees, you only need one and lots of sunshine for a bumper crop like mine this year.
The flavor of fresh cherries is unlike any pie you’ve ever had. Unbelievably good, but they exist in a perfect state of picking for only a week, and then it’s over.

The recipe is off the box of instant tapioca, with a teaspoon of vanilla added.
